Cairns Botanic Gardens in Collins Street. Birdwatching Walk every Tuesday 8am meet at the Information Centre.

Cairns Esplanade. Significant wader spot in the Spring, Summer and Autumn.

Cattana Wetlands near Yorkey's Knob. purpose built for birdwatchers. Well signposted.

Centenary Lakes. Greenslopes Street. Unusual setup. One lake is saltwater the other is fresh.

Edmonton Turf Farm. France Road. Large flat area with different grasslands.

Great Barrier Reef. Michealmas Cay just off Cairns

Lake Morris. Copperload Dam close to the city.

Mangrove Walk. Airport Avenue. Jack Barnes Memorial Mangrove walk.

Redden Island. Drive onto Redden Island from Machan's Beach

Stoney Creek. Barron Gorge National Park at the end of Stoney Creek Road

Thompson Road. Edmonton. Leads to boat ramp in the mangroves.

Yorkey's Knob. Lagoon next to a golf club.
