There are four roads that lead to the
Atherton Tablelands. They are all steep, narrow and winding, From
Cairns; the Kuranda Range Road (Kennedy Highway) and the Gillies
Highway. From Daintree/Port Douglas/Mossman the Rex Range (Mossman -
Mt Molloy Road) and from Innisfail the Palmerston Highway.
A good itinerary is to arrive in Cairns, head north for Daintree for a
day or two, head up to Julatten/Mt Molloy for a few days and continue
on south through the tablelands to Innisfail and head up the Bruce
Highway back to Cairns. Our app has all the recognised places to go

Getting around. The public transport system in the Wet
Tropics area is poor, for serious birdwatching think of it as being
